She remembered seeing the four large bodies wrapped up and being confused. She had hurt Reyes she remembered it vividly but she didn’t think she killed him she hadn’t been able to go through with it; she had left him there though, bleeding out. So why was his body rolled up in a black tarp. She remembered the despair she felt knowing he was gone and it was her fault. That’s when the things showed up and made her move the bodies and bury them, and then each of her sisters.

She changed after that, she killed just to kill; she drained beings for blood to survive and didn’t care about the pain she caused them. Scarlett tried to help her.

She couldn’t, she had let the Cimmerian take over and her legion was still thriving and partially because she did whatever she had to, to get what needed done. They didn’t know what she was doing, they just saw the results. The thing wasn’t there that much anymore when it was it would screw the vampire it kept with it wherever it wanted, the stairs, the hall, her mind wouldn’t let her see the woman’s features though, like it was shielding her from it.

She was like a numb walking body. She was in the kitchen one day when she heard Scarlett yelling from below in the basement. She flung the door open and ran down the steps. A barred door was in a wall that had never been there before, it stood open. She went through it into a very clean underground tunnel. When had they done this and how? She came to a large circular room with another barred door to another tunnel on the other side. Along the walls were cells. Scarlett was lying dead in the middle of the room.

They had killed her, and viciously. Her face was covered in blood and her throat was gone. She couldn’t even cry, she was already so numb, she felt anger instead. They had just left her there like trash. She buried her sister next to her other ones avoiding looking at her body.

It was dark when she finished she was in the bathroom wondering why they drug her back here every time she got away. She hadn’t run again, as long as they knew she wasn’t back at the palace they would stay away from it. This is where she was when they approached her and she attacked them. She was just standing in front of the mirror with her head looking down and knew they were there.

They weren’t expecting her to react, she grabbed the women by her hair and set her on fire, she screamed and one of the reapers warped her away the other turned on her and she managed to dodge it. Her cimms rushed out and rushed it crashing it into the tub. So, that’s how it cracked, these things weren’t nearly as strong then as they were now, not to say they were weak, she could feel her heart racing knowing she was going to die. The other one warped back and slammed her into the mirror.

It cracked, she fell to the ground where it grabbed her by her hair and jerked her up. She grabbed his arm and shoved electricity into it. It snarled and let her go. One of her cimms flew at him while the other still went at his friend. They were protecting her. She ran from the room, down the stairs and out the door, the area wasn’t as developed yet and she couldn’t stay on the dirt road.

She was running through the woods, her chest was aching and she knew she had expelled too much power, her cimms were still loose but she felt them losing. She pushed her mist anyway to cover behind her and it quickly expanded filling the woods heavily. She had the ground clearing out as she ran so she didn’t fall on her face. It was too much, her body was screaming at her to stop. She had no idea how long she ran before she came to a cliff, it was either go back and find another way or jump. Jump down into what was a deep ravine of water; she didn’t have time to think she jumped. She hit the water hard and the current drug her with it, she used her water ability to slow it but she couldn’t expel anymore, she was like a car out of gas. She went under and just limply let it take her after becoming too tired to fight.

She woke up in the cell room; she was chained by her ankle on a dirty mattress. She had seen this mattress many times. She actually laughed thinking this is how all those beings had felt. Well, maybe not exactly the whole laughing not giving a shit they were about to die feeling. She didn’t react when they finally entered the room she just sat on her knees waiting for the inevitable or the torture if they played that game tonight.

The woman was them, so was another she had never seen before. The reapers walked over to her and pulled her up to them. It was quick to her surprise. They didn’t even use power against her. They shoved a blade into her stomach before yanking her head back, she wasn’t afraid, she was ready for this. It actually seemed to hesitate before tearing into her throat on one side why the other took the opposite side, the female vampires approached at their gesture and began tearing into her. She was already too far gone to care; she may have tried to laugh. Who knew dying could be so peaceful?

  CHAPTER NINE

She woke up in the dark room and just felt so many emotions. She went to the bathroom and shut the door sliding down it. Her sisters dead, Reyes dead, she didn’t remember every single detail of her old life, actually she didn’t remember a lot of details of her old life just the ones involving the lapsed time in that house. How could Reyes want her? She had killed him. She felt a sob well up. She had killed so many so callously without a second thought. Even now her Cimmerian was circling around within her.

“Widow?” She heard a knock on the door. She didn’t answer him. “Little fae, let me in.” Reyes said softly. She felt an unbelievable amount of love for him, he didn’t care who she was or what she was and she found she didn’t care about his dark side, he wasn’t anywhere near as sick as the reaper and if that made her crazy what did that even matter? She was crazy all on her own anyway.

She reached up and opened the door. He came in and wrapped his arms around her hugging her to his chest. “I’m sorry.” She said through her tears. “I know.” He gently stroked her hair and kissed her head. “I know, you didn’t want to hurt me in that way.” She snuggled into him. “How are you here?” She asked. “The same way you are.” He lifted her into his arms and carried her back into the bedroom.

“How can you even want me?” She asked looking at him in the darkness of the bedroom. “I will always want you Widow, you are everything to me.” She knew he meant that. He just held her for a long time as she thought of everything she had done and everything she remembered. Her Cimmerian was almost peaceful now, like it wanted her to know this, she already felt connected to it and that scared her for what that may cause for the future, she had to fight it and be at ease with it all at the same time. She knew this would be a struggle now that her pills were gone.

She looked up at Reyes and he looked down at her. She wondered if they could really make this work between them. She almost laughed thinking of him being a father one day and then that led to another thought. “Can you make babies?” She asked. She felt him grin against her head. “Of course I can.” Had he? “Do you have kids?” He shifted so her head was slightly tilted up at him on his chest. “I would have told you if I did, where is this coming from?” She gnawed on her lip. “We never used anything to not have any.” She said after a minute.

He didn’t speak right away. “I know.” He finally said before rolling her to her back. She let him settle between her legs. “You don’t want them?” He nuzzled her neck. “Of course I do, I just.” He kissed her chest. She needed him, not just in the sexual, love of her life sense but also because she knew where her friends were and had every intention of going to get them.

She could feel it in her gut her friends were both still alive and before she went charging off to go on a rescue mission she would need blood, food and to make sure her sisters and cureaters were ready because she knew they would be coming with her and she would need their help and them alert.

She tried to just focus on Reyes and his amazing body as he crouched above her now naked. She loved looking at him. He helped her out of her clothes quickly before settling his face between her legs. He kissed her thighs and then ran the tip of his tongue up her lips. He repeated this a few times before d
iving in and stopping only to suck her clit into his mouth. She screamed and gripped his shoulders as the orgasm tore through her. He rose above her and slammed into her before she even came back down. His thrusts were hard almost to the point of her telling him to stop but the pleasure started mixing with the pain. She was a moaning mess beneath him.

“Widow.” He growled out going deeper. She dug into his back and bit him when he leaned in for it. She came with his blood filling her mouth, he pulled up when she was done and kept thrusting rapidly launching her back up again as soon as he bit her she came yet again. He kept going never once stopping. “You are beautiful.” He gritted out staring her right in her eyes. She smiled and pulled him closer to her and took everything he gave her.

“Reyes.” She gasped out as he finished with the sexy low guttural groan he always finished with and the hot water of the shower ran over them. They had finished on the bed just to pick it back up in the shower. She had been turned around her hands on the shower wall with him behind her supporting her weight. She felt him placing soft kisses up her back and then on her shoulder. She just stayed wrapped in his arms under the water for a few minutes.

“You need to eat, get dressed and I’ll have food waiting for you.” He kissed her before washing himself up and then getting out of the shower. She took her time washing herself before climbing out. She dressed in a pair of black denim shorts, and a black tank. After a quick brush of her hair and teeth she went out to the main open room and sure enough Reyes, had food waiting, lots of food.

“How did you get all this up here so fast?” She walked up to him and he wrapped his arms around her. “It’s my hotel.” He smiled and gave her a kiss. “I wanted you to have whatever you wanted.” He sat her down and kissed her cheek. “I have a call to make, I’ll be right back.” She nodded and he went towards the bedroom where she heard the door click letting her know that’s where he went.

She poured herself some orange juice and filled her plate with fruit, ham, eggs and toast. She didn’t realize how hungry she was until now. By the time she was done eating Reyes still wasn’t back. She saw it was already almost eleven in the morning. She sent texts to her sisters and friends asking what they were doing.

She decided to go rinse her plate since Reyes still hadn’t come out of the room. She heard a knock on the door as she was rinsing her plate and walked to see who it was. Looking through the peephole she saw Olivia. She was about to open the door when Reyes put his hands on her hips. “Who is it?” He asked. She would love to know how he moved so quietly. “Your friend.” He gave her an odd look and she shrugged and went back to rinsing her plate. Reyes opened the door and walked back towards the dining room with Olivia right behind him. She stopped looking over at her and just watched her. “What?” She snapped. She had no patience left for this stuck up ice princess.

“Olive.” Reyes said and she heard a warning in his voice. Did he just call her Olive? She gave him a look as if to say “Seriously?” Olivia smiled at her but it wasn’t friendly. “If you’re going to keep it I might as well get used to it.” She was talking about her like she was a dog. She blew her back and sent her crashing into the table. Olivia landed on her ass not expecting to be hit with a force of air. As she did the orange juice wobbled and spilled pouring off the table onto her lap as well a platter of fruit.

Reyes helped her up and gave her a dark look and she gave him her own icy look right back. “You can use the other shower.” He said softly to Olivia. Everything would be great between them and then she would show up and it wouldn’t. She walked passed them and Olivia reached out and grabbed her, the same time Shadow came around the corner and snarled at her. She shoved the blonde off of her and Reyes grabbed her and shoved her the opposite way. “Enough.” He said to her his voice hard. “You’re fucking impossible.” She snapped at him. She went and grabbed her combat boots, dumped her purse grabbing only what she needed.

She grabbed a light hoodie and a ponytail. She turned to see Reyes in the doorway watching her. “What are you doing?” She ignored him. “What does it look like I’m doing?” She said when he still stood there. He stepped into the room and shut the door. “You spend a lot of time running away from things.” This was considered running? So be it then, she had friends to go get. “You spend an awful lot of time with that stuck up bitch, but hey, everyone has vices.”

She looked at his face. “Aww, are you upset?” She didn’t give a shit. He stalked towards her slowly. “I’m the wrong one to tease little fae.” She tried to move past him. “Nice to know.” She didn’t care she was poking the bear His arm snaked out and grabbed her. “What is with you two just grabbing people? Get the hell off of me!” She shoved against him and he of course didn’t budge. He grabbed the hand she shoved him with and quickly moved so she was shoved against the wall. “What the hell are you doing?!” She yelled trying to twist away from him; it was pointless she was getting nowhere.

“Tell me what the issue is.” He said his voice low as he kept her pinned to the wall. “You know what issue is, you’re not an idiot.” She snapped. “You wouldn’t understand it.” He said in the same tone of voice. “What does that even mean? Who is she?!” She was tired of this fucking she vamp. “Someone close to me and there aren’t many, I trust her, I know she’d never betray me.” Was that a dig at her? “That’s not how I meant it.” He must have noticed the hurt she tried to cover.

“It doesn’t matter, let me go.” Oh, Gods she was not about to cry. She was not a crier. When she thought about it Olivia was admittedly gorgeous, she knew she was close in actual age to Reyes who had stopped aging at thirty-two but was way, way older and also looked young and gorgeous, they clearly were very close, she knew they had probably messed around a million times, they were both full-bloods and he always defended her, and the detail she hadn’t killed him and she had.

“Don’t go down that road.” He said like he knew what she was thinking. “We both know it’s true.” She looked up at him. “If I wanted her I could have her, I have had her many times and it’s simple. She isn’t you, no one is like you.” He said it as if to shove it into her head for her to believe it. She couldn’t. He waited for her to say something. When he didn’t he let her go but didn’t move.

A knock on the door and then it swung open “Are you done arguing over me?” Olivia said coolly she stood wrapped in a towel that just covered her lady bits. She snorted and moved away from Reyes. “Give us a minute.” She heard Olivia sigh and shut the door. She pulled her boots on and laced them up. “Where are you going?” He asked “Out.” She answered tersely.

She stood and went to walk out of the room, he grabbed her gently this time and kissed her softly before placing a kiss to her forehead and letting her go. She didn’t say a word as she and Shadow made their way out of the hotel suite. Shadow made a low growl at Olivia as they passed her. She hit the hall and went straight to the library where Clover text her they would be. She hoped they were ready to do this. They had already lost way too much time and they needed to go to them today.

  CHAPTER TEN

They were figuring out a plan as they crowded around the library table with a drawing Cooper did of the house. Cooper and Finn would be the drivers of the two eight passenger Denali’s they had gotten just for today. Chelsea refused not to go with them. She knew the reapers only needed two of them alive and she didn’t think it mattered which two it was until Sam pointed out they would want the stronger the better to anchor to.

That would put her at risk and Jenna, who was stronger because of Kitty who she had no problem letting out if things go bad enough. She knew their friends were probably bait but she wasn’t going to just leave them there. The second thing was getting through the house, down to the basement and then through the tunnel. She had no idea how long the tunnel really was.

The room was circular and if they were in sells she doubted they could just pop open the doors and they had no idea what kind of condition they would be in. They had ba
gged blood in a cooler in each truck. They needed to be as quick as possible and go Buffy on their asses instead of expelling power immediately. They had elemental daggers, daggers that went with their power sources. The wolves were coming two would be stationed by the trucks and two would be with them.

The trucks would be parked on the front road a little ways down from the house in case they had to carry Troy or Tracy. The first issue they had was going to be all of them leaving the hotel together without the kings knowing. She had no doubts in her mind they could track their cells so they would be discarded throughout the hotel; they were to use the laundry room exit and hit the back alley and get in the trucks.

Since they couldn’t all just walk out together they were going in time gaps, Finn and Cooper would get the trucks and they would load in. The first group would rendezvous in the alley after taking different paths downstairs. Since all the kings seemed preoccupied now was the time to dump the phones and get a move on.
